Tyler’s story doesn’t start in a boardroom or on a golf course. It starts in a Minnesota town of 2,000 people, where summers meant chores in the morning and endless loops around a nine‑hole golf course in town that was built on a cow pasture. Powered by Dr Pepper and whatever snacks he could find, he played junior golf, competed nationally, and shared fields with names like Jordan Spieth, Richy Werenski, and Tom Hoge.
That early love of competition shaped everything that came after—even when life took him far away from the fairway.
From Rural Roots to Banking (and a Plot Twist)
College brought Tyler to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he played competitive golf and eventually met Emily through a mutual friend. While he considered pursuing golf more seriously, mentors encouraged him to build a career and network first, so he dove headfirst into banking.
He worked his way up from teller to personal banker to branch manager to commercial lending, then helped JPMorgan Chase expand private banking in Sioux Falls. During COVID, he learned fast, adapted faster, and became the go‑to problem solver when everything changed overnight.
But golf wasn't done with him.
A spot opened in a local pro‑am, and despite having sold his clubs, he borrowed a set and shot +5, then −5, then −5. That spark was still there. Emily asked him the question that flipped a switch: “Will you regret not giving this a real shot?” The answer: absolutely.
So, on the way to a tournament, they started looking at Florida. They found a home, put in an offer from the driving range, and closedin 29 days. Tyler transferred with Chase and moved south.
The Double Shoulder Saga (With a Happy Ending)
Florida brought sunshine, year‑round golf—and one very unexpected detour.
Tyler tore his left rotator cuff during a Spartan race in December 2024, rehabbed it without surgery, then tore the right one six months later. More rehab. More injections. More patience.
Miraculously, both healed.
Today, he’s back to playing without pain and keeps the U.S. Open and PGA qualifiers on the horizon—more goal than calendar entry for now.
How Tyler Found Clotine
While Tyler was navigating shoulder rehab and figuring out next steps, Emily got a call from her former boss Brad about an operations role at Clotine. She thought the work was outside her lane, but immediately thought of Tyler.
With his background in banking, operations and investor relations, he clicked instantly with the team. He’s now a key part of the teamworking together to help translate Dan’s big visions into real, structured, executable plans
Short version: Clotine is a perfect fit.
What He’s Doing Here Now
Tyler’s role sits at the intersection of operations, administration, and finance—the glue that makes ideas real. He’s:
- A checklist assassin who loves closing loops
- A problem solver who can zoom from strategy to details in seconds
- A finance-fluent operator who's also learning the world of raw land development
He's a big-picture thinker like Dan, but he's equally addicted to the details that make it all work—and he thrives on the limitless, always‑evolving nature of Clotine. His goal: continue leveling up from operator to true strategic player as the company grows.
Life with Emily (and Two Bengals Who Run the House)
Tyler and Emily met in Sioux Falls, reconnected through leadership work, and eventually built a life that now includes:
- Two energetic Bengal cats
- A home they are constantly updating (Emily is the brain behind the improvements
- Beach days, game nights and a shared list of 100+ restaurants these foodies want to try
Emily is also a natural golfer, but prefers the chill of11-12 holes over a full 18. Florida feels right for them—the weather, the lifestyle, the pace—but holidays up north still feel like home. Their long‑termdream is to always keep a place in Florida, even while staying close to their Midwest roots.

Golf Goals (Always on the Horizon)
Although he stepped away from golf after college, the fire returned. Now, with healthier shoulders and a career that energizes him, he’s back to training with intention and entering qualifiers when the opportunity strikes.
He loves the challenge, the discipline, and the way the sport mirrors life at Clotine: strategic, unpredictable, and full of opportunity if you’re willing to show up and grind.
