Brad didn’t grow up in a corner office. He grew up in Wisconsin, on a hobby farm, tending pigs and driving tractors. By 14, he’d bought his first car to fix—a Pontiac Bonneville convertible (which unfortunately he never got on the road)—and by 18, he was running a summer business fixing up cars to pay for college. He didn’t love high school, but he loved solving problems. That’s a theme that’s stuck with him ever since.
Today, Brad lives in West Palm Beach, Florida, where he keeps a rotating collection of 10 or 11 cars in a garage on his property. Like a Midwest Tony Stark, Brad’s garage is part workshop, part laboratory—where curiosity meets horsepower. His favorite cars right now? A 1985 Mazda RX-7 and a 1974 Corvette. He’s found he enjoys working on them more than driving them—he’ll often puzzle through mechanical challenges while out on a bike ride or mid-workout. It’s not just about fixing things. It’s about figuring them out.
Engineering Mindset Meets Entrepreneurial Speed
Brad’s career has followed a similar pattern: master something, then move on to the next challenge. He started in engineering, working at Texas Instruments, Johnson & Johnson, and Abbott Labs. Once he’d cracked the code at each role, he moved on. Eventually, he found his way into the startup world, scaling operations at ParkerVision and later returning to J&J, who sponsored his MBA at Duke University.
But big companies couldn’t keep up with his pace. Brad thrives in fast-moving environments, where he can apply his engineering mindset to messy, real-world problems. Today, he runs his own business, working with 4–8 companies at a time across industries—law, manufacturing, IT, marketing, trades, irrigation, and more. One of his most memorable projects? Helping a firearms silencer manufacturer grow from $8 million to $38 million in revenue by standardizing materials purchasing and de-risking operations.
Brad’s philosophy is simple: integrity in everything, extreme ownership, and no excuses. He brings the logic of an engineer to every problem, and the energy of someone who’s always in motion.
Always Moving Forward
And he really is always in motion. When he’s not working, Brad competes in adventure races—12 to 36-hour events that combine hiking, paddling, cycling, and navigation. He’s won one and placed in the top five in others. He also snow skis out west and heli-skis in places like Snowbird, Utah and Whistler, British Columbia. When he’s in the helicopter looking down at the terrain, it’s intimidating. But then he smiles and says:
“I can ski that.”
That mindset—curious, fearless, and always moving forward—is exactly what makes Brad such a valuable part of the Clotine Capital community.
